David R. Smith

David R. Smith, Board Chair, is the co-owner, with son Joel, of a dairy heifer, beef cattle, and crop farm consisting of 100 dairy replacement heifers and 80 head of beef cattle. The beef cattle are all marketed through an on-farm freezer beef business. David serves as executive director of the Pennsylvania Dairymen's Association and was recently appointed treasurer of the Penn State Ag Council Board of Directors in October 2024 after serving the board since 2019. He is president of the PA Agriculture Discovery Center and also serves as a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, the Pennsylvania Holstein Association, Holstein Association USA, and the Lebanon County Farm Bureau.
