Horizon Farm Credit Launches Community Investment Grant Program to Empower Nonprofit Organizations

Horizon Farm Credit is proud to announce the launch of its Community Investment Grant Program, aimed at supporting nonprofit organizations dedicated to strengthening communities within its 100-county footprint. The program offers grants of up to $10,000 to initiatives focusing on agriculture innovation, agriculture education, diversity in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and strengthening communities.

"We recognize the crucial role nonprofits play in enhancing the vitality of the communities we serve," said Tom Truitt, Horizon Farm Credit Chief Executive Officer. "Through the Community Investment Grant Program, we are committed to empowering these organizations to continue their impactful work and drive positive change."

Nonprofit organizations operating within Horizon Farm Credit’s 100-county footprint are encouraged to apply. Eligible projects must align with at least one of the program’s focus areas. Examples of potential initiatives include farm safety programs, urban agriculture efforts, food insecurity support, rural mental health programs, community-based projects that aid local fire and police departments, and 4-H Club or FFA Chapter initiatives.

Applications are due June 15, 2025.  Organizations interested in applying must submit an online application along with their W-9 form and a detailed project budget using the provided template. Grant applicants will be notified of funding decisions in August 2025. More details, including application guidelines, can be found at horizonfc.com/community.
